The ending was priceless. Thanks for the laugh, and great work on the animation.

antdung responds:

Haha, no problem! Thank you for the kind words and for watching :D

Stick to this style; it's funny :)

Brewster responds:

I think it's pretty good

Dude you totally should have waited til after the whole Madness craze to submit this. This deserves first. Amazing job.

fea-tures responds:

Its the day after Madness day where I live, woops.

Nah, there was no grand strategy for releasing this, just wanted to get it out of the way :)

Thanks for watching!

Personally, I like this series. Sure, the animation is mostly tweens, the characters joints/body parts look like symbols over layers, and the lip syncing is lazily done; however, I find this is a different classification on how cartoons are done nowadays. Anyone to say this takes less talent is wrong because a lot of successful cartoons are the exact same way--sometimes it just works.

The style of this cartoon may be, as some might say, "lazy", but in order for a series--web series especially--to come out with new episodes every week some sacrifices must be made. Animation takes a lot of time and labor; it's either hire inbetweeners or more animators, or just do some "lazy" animation.

Now, the only thing I don't like about the "lazy animating" is the mouth syncing/movements. I mean, it could be done a lot better than stretching and scewing the mouth for an entire word or part of a sentence. I find lip syncing one of the most important things on a character.

Other than that, the backgrounds are awesome, the plot has an open door for ideas, and the humor is above average. The voice acting is nice, the designs are great, and the mixed genre (from comedy, to action, to comedy) is great. I really want to see more episodes! This series is pretty good so far!

Thanks for the comment. Glad you get where we're coming from. We spent quite a bit of time figuring out the best production process that worked for us. Everyone has their own approach and this is what ended up working for us. Cheers!

Amazing job. Haven't seen a quality sprite movie for a long time. The song went perfectly with the movie. I noticed you dedicated this to Edd Gould, but I'm surprised you didn't mention anything about Randy Solem (the VGDC guy). Either way, keep the movies coming! Welcome back too :P

Psycosis91 responds:

To be honest I had limited room in the credits. The movie is the product of Randy's death, Edd's death, and my boyfriend's hospitalisation... It was a rough time for sure.

Edd definitely meant more to me as one of my best friends, but yeah, Randy was the first person to spark my creativity, and nothing can replace that.

I love your style dude. I've always been a fan of the propaganda/silhouette style for ages. It's nice to know there is an animator that sticks to this style. I also noticed your videos have been getting smoother too. Can't wait to see your new stuff. Fave'd :)

By the way, if it wasn't for your videos I never would have known about Parov Stellar. Kudos to you :D

daigonite responds:

Thanks mate, I've had several occasions when I wanted to deviate from this but I decided that it wasn't the best course of action. I think developing this style is what will help me the most.

Stelar is a sexy beast gawd :>

I don't understand how a project like this only got 5th place; in my opinion, this deserved a higher score. The animation was awesome, and it really brought back some good memories of this game. Any chance you have a link to the actual video before it was rotoscoped?

kalabor106 responds:

I still have the videos on my computer. I guess I could make a short video of the before and after rotoscope. Just not sure where I'd upload it.

Who gives a shit if it looks like egoraptor, I liked it. People make their own Awesome series videos all the time, and they dont get ridiculed for it. I found this was a little humorous since StarFox64 used to be my favorite game back in elementary school (never played the others, but this video kinda makes me wanna pick up a copy), and the animation looked--if anything--forced to be sloppy just to get it's point across; if not that, then it's a great start for a FIRST MOVIE. People have their influences, it's like a band sounding like another band because they like their music.
Be proud dude. You got Front-Paged. :)

Brojack responds:

Agreed with the whole band reference mate :) I'm glad you enjoyed this video, and I'm so happy that I got front page, it has made my week :D
Glad you see it my way brolinator :)

Very touching

I can't stop watching Edd's stuff, and can't stop thinking about how someone who has inspired many people over the internet has passed. The thought of someone with much respect having a harmful disease seemed to be getting better, hoping he would come out with another video stating he is cured, almost sure of it...but instead he goes out with an abrupt ending.

Edd, I loved your work and am most likely going to make an animation with the inspiration you have given me and many of the people of the internet. Thank you CartoonWarStudios for this video.

Yusuf responds:

Don't thank me, thank Edd Gould, for I wouldn't even have made this or any of my cartoons if it weren't for him :)

Very cool.

Definitely something to look back at when practicing animating different walking styles--as well as goofy looking characters. Nice Work. Favorited.

TheBoogley responds:

thanks! walk cycles are fun! In fact, walking is fun! WALKING!! FFUUUNNN!!! 8D
